Edward H. "Cotton" Bland, 86, of Denton, passed away on Thursday, December 4, 2014 Senior Care of Denton. He was born May 26, 1928 in Aubrey, TX to Jess and Gracie (Marion) Bland. He was married to Bonnie Jo Patterson on August 26, 1949 in Denton. He was retired from the City of Denton Solid Waste Department as a manager. He was a member of the Faith Tabernacle Assembly of God Church.
Mr. Bland is survived by his wife, Bonnie Bland of Denton; daughter, Sandra Joe Bland of Shreveport, LA; sons, Eddie Glen Bland of Ellendale, ND and Jackie Doyle Bland of Plano; brothers, Abbie Bland of Denton, and Jimmy Bland of Whitesboro; sisters-in-law, Naomi (Sissie) Taylor of Denton and Joyce Lawson of Hurst; four grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by parents, three sisters, and three brothers.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, December 7, 2014 at Mulkey-Mason, Jack Schmitz and Son Funeral Home, 705 N. Locust, Denton from 3 P.M. until 4 P.M. A graveside service will be held on Monday, December 8, 2014 at 1:00 P.M. at Cooper Creek Cemetery with Rev. Randy Snow, officiating.
