Edna Earle (Williams) McSpedden, 86, was born in rural Dallas County, Texas on October 22, 1932 to Levi Henry and Annie Arlena (Chase) Williams and passed away on Sunday, November 4, 2018 at her home in Ponder, Texas.
On September 23, 1948, she married William Davis McSpedden in McKinney Texas.
Edna attended schools in Frisco, Texas and had a career with multiple grocery stores retiring as head cashier after many years with Safeway Grocery in Denton, Texas.
Having been born and growing up in Great Depression and the lack of many things, she always made sure her family and friends were never turned away hungry from her bountiful table. There was always extra cakes and pies in her freezer for needs that might arise.
She is survived by 3 children, 8 grandchildren, and 19 great-grandchildren;
Daughter Shirley and (Gary) Pirkle of Sanger, TX; Daughter Barbara Berryman of Ponder, TX; Son Davis McSpedden and (Joyce) of Sanger, TX; grandchildren: Melissa and (Wally) Stults of Sanger, TX; Kendra and (Duane) Sebastian of Sanger, TX; Kelly and (Amy) Pirkle of Sanger, TX; Rodney and (Katey) Brown of Lorenzo, TX; Jeffrey and (Michelle) McSpedden of Aubrey, TX; Stacy and (Kris) Schertz of Anna, TX; Justin McSpedden of Sanger, TX; Jennifer and (Brad) Caldwell of Sanger, TX. Great-grandchildren; Tanner, Tyler, and London Lake; Reed, Reese, and Raylan Sebastian; Lane, Gage and Kade Pirkle; Rhett and Cole Brown; Colby, Rylan and Slade McSpedden; Landen, Lydia and Logan Schertz; and Braxton and Brinley Caldwell. Also survived by one sister Nina Titsworth and three sisters-in-law: Ruth Miller, Ann Edwards and Lynette Renner and many loving nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by her husband Davis McSpedden, her parents, six sisters and one brother.
Visitation will be held at Mulkey-Bowles-Montgomery Funeral Home, 705 N. Locust, Denton, TX on November 6, 2018 from 6:00 to 8:00pm. Funeral Services will be on Wednesday, November 7, 2018 at 2:00pm at First Baptist Church of Ponder where Edna was a long time member. Rev. Kim Broadstreet will be officiating. Interment to follow at Sanger Cemetery, Sanger, TX Donations may be made to Edna's favorite charities; Multiple Sclerosis or to Alzheimer's Research.
