IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Edmond Gale
Williams
October 10, 1957 – May 9, 2017
Edmond Gale Williams (Ed), 59, of Krum, died Tuesday, May 9, 2017 in Denton.
Gale was born on October 10, 1957 in Hartselle, Alabama to James and Mildred (McDonnell) Williams. He was married to Karen Giles on July 14, 1978 in Tomball, TX. He retired from the University of North Texas after twenty-eight years of service.
In June of 2015 Gale was diagnosed with cancer in his tonsil. He went through extensive radiation and chemo treatments and on December 3, 2015 got to ring the bell on his last radiation treatment. Shortly after that he was declared cancer free. The battle continued with numerous health issues from the treatments but he faced each and every one with the determination that this was not going to beat him. He continued his fight up to his death when his body could no longer continue and God called him home.
Gale never met a stranger and would lend a hand to anyone in need. He had a way to make people laugh and always had something unique and quirky to say which is what people loved most about him. If he gave you a nickname then you knew you were in his circle of special friends. He loved his wife Karen of 37 years, his kids, grandkids, family and friends with all his heart.
He is survived by his wife Karen of Krum; daughters, Jessica Williams of Krum, Michelle Williams of Fairview; son, Brad Williams of Denton; sisters, Sandra Flores of Denton, Janet Madison of Magnolia, Cheryl Hester of Diboll, Jolynn Moyeda of Eagle Pass; brother, Richard Williams of Houston; two grandchildren, Christian and Zane, In-Laws Mike and Barbara Giles of Krum; numerous nieces and nephews and his special four legged friends.
In lieu of flowers Gale requested donations be made to the SPCA.
