Earl Lane Nuckels, 58, of Denton passed away on Tuesday, April 14, 2009 at his home. He was born August 20, 1950 in Denton to Bee and Mary (McGuire) Nuckels. He is a graduate of Denton High School, University of North Texas Music Education, and Southwestern Baptist Seminary, Masters of Religious Education. He was married to Martha Jean Christian on June 10, 1972 in Denton. He was currently the Minister of Music at Highland Baptist Church and a store manager with General Nutrition Company.
Earl began his music ministry at the age of 18, and served as music minister for Town North Baptist Church of Denton, McKinney Street Baptist Church of Denton, FBC Little Elm, Trinity Baptist Church of Sherman, FBC Henrietta and Highland Baptist Church of Denton. He was a member of the Grand Chorus and Acapella Choir at UNT, the Singing Men of Texas and Outstanding Young Men of America.
A funeral service will be held at 10 A.M. Saturday, April 18, 2009 at Highland Baptist Church, 600 Highland St.. Denton, with Rev. Jimmy Christian and Rev. Eddie Schafer, officiating. Burial will follow in the Little Elm Cemetery in Little Elm. The family will be at the Mulkey-Mason, Jack Schmitz and Son Funeral Home, 705 N. Locust, Denton for visitation on Friday, April 17, 2009 from 7 to 9 P.M.
Mr. Nuckels is survived by his wife, Martha (Christian) Nuckels, two sons, Christian and wife, Michaela Nuckels, Jordan Nuckels, all of Denton, Three Brothers, and their Wives, George and Rosa Nuckels, of San Antonio, Donald and Joyce Nuckels, of Stoney, and Thomas and Donna Nuckels, of The Colony, many nieces and nephews, and a Granddaughter, Emorie Bryton Nuckels.
