Duel Oscar "Blue" Gambill, 98, passed away on May 18, 2017. The funeral service will be held in the chapel of the Denton Funeral Home on May 24th, 2017 at 2 p.m. Burial will follow at the Prairie Mound Cemetery. Visitation will be on May 22nd, 2017, 6 to 8 p.m.
Blue was born on September 12, 1918 in Warren, Arkansas. He was a veteran of WWII serving in eight major campaigns from the landing at the beaches of Normandy on D Day to serving as Sergeant of the Guard at the Potsdam Conference. Blue was also a 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason.
He was the Patriarch and Dragon Slayer of our family. He is survived by five children, fourteen grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren.
