Duane Douglas Olmstead, 59, of Flower Mound, Texas, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, October 17, 2006, after a courageous battle with cancer.
He was born November 2, 1946 in Cuba City, Wisconsin to Douglas and Arlene Abraham Olmstead. Duane served in the United States Army National Guard. He married Vicki Coplien on February 24, 1966 in Nora, Illinois. Duane was a member of Temple Baptist Church in Flower Mound and started the Men's Prayer Partners at the church. He was a certified health minister and an ordained minister. Duane worked in human resources at Boeing/Labinal.
He is survived by his wife, Vicki; daughters, Kelly Beougher of Double Oak, Texas and Nicole Rogers of Corinth, Texas; sons, Paul Olmstead of Port Washington, Wisconsin and Matthew Olmstead of Highland Village, Texas; mother, Arlene Olmstead of Highland Village; 13 grandchildren and 1 great granddaughter; sisters, Betty Boehm of Highland Village and Donna Strutzenberg of Brodhead, Wisconsin and his brother, Robert Olmstead of Beloit, Wisconsin.
Funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, October 21, 2006, at Temple Baptist Church, 2501 Northshore Blvd, Flower Mound. Interment will follow at Old Hall Cemetery in Lewisville, Texas. Reverends Richard Wallace, Reggie Logan and Bill Fields will officiate the service. The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Friday at the church.
