Doyle Darral Puckett, 86, of Denton, died Monday, July 10, 2017 at Medical City of Denton.
Mr. Puckett was born on June 28, 1931 in Coleman, TX to Herman John and Vernie (Chew) Puckett. He served in the United States Army in the Korean War and received a Purple Heart. He was married to Patsy Nelle Walker on March 6, 1954 in Coleman. He retired as an electrician after many years working for Texas Woman's University.
Doyle is survived by his wife, Patsy Puckett of Denton; son, James "Jim" D. Puckett of Gainesville; sisters, Lenora Vernal Percell of San Angelo, Sue Hudson of Greenville, SC, Tracy Huxford of Bangs; brothers, Lester C. Puckett of Comanche, James H. Puckett of Santa Anna; grandchildren, Chris Griffin, Stephanie Ann Griffin, Lauren Michelle Doss; five great-grandchildren and one step great-grandson. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Nancy Griffin and brother, Carl D. Puckett.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, July 14, 2017 in the chapel of Mulkey-Bowles-Montgomery Funeral Home, 705 N. Locust St., Denton. Visitation will be held from 1:00 PM until the service starts. Rev. Buddy Owens will officiate the service. Interment will follow at Belew Cemetery, Aubrey.
