Obituary

Doyle Alfred Davis, 76, of Denton, passed away on Tuesday, March 8, 2011 at Denton Regional Medical Center. He was born on September 10, 1934 in Black Land, TX to Dayton Alfred and Clara Lee (Lewellen) Davis. He was married to Judith Reynolds on July 20, 1979 in Temple, TX. He served in the U S Army and was retired from the Santa Fe Railroad and the construction business. He is a member of the First Baptist Church of Denton.

Mr. Davis is survived by his wife, Judith Davis of Denton; daughter, Rhonda Collister and husband Larry of Denton; sons, Brad Davis and wife Teri of Midlothian, Leonard Davis and wife Diana of Abilene, Wayne Davis and wife Brenda of Belton, and Monte White and wife Jacquelyn of Chesterfield, MO; sisters, Audie Mae Smith of Sweetwater, Aline Brand of Euless, Nettie Ruth Newman of Sweetwater, Ruby Mae Bagley of Midland; brother Alton Davis of Abilene; fifteen grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dayton and Clara Davis, a brother, Dalton Davis and a son, Mark Davis.

Doyle was a member and Vice Commander of the Military Order of Purple Heart Chapter 758, Moslah Shrine, Flying Fez, Stanfield Masonic Lodge, Fort Worth Scottish Rite and the Blue Lodge of Temple, Texas. He was a loving husband, father and papa.

Honorary pallbearers will be: Virgil Aldag, Jim Wheeler, Richard Skipper, Larry Collister, Tim Davis and Jon Davis.

The family wishes to thank Dr. Mukesh Saraiya for the years of care he gave that extended Doyle's life and the wonderful relationship with Doyle which he so cherished. The family further wishes to thank the ICU Nurses at Denton Regional Medical Center - East Wing for the loving care and support of not only Doyle but our family as well. You blessed us!

A memorial service will be held at the First Baptist Church, 1100 Malone St. Denton, at 10:00 AM Monday, March 14, 2011, with Dr. Jeff Williams officiating. Interment will follow in the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery with military honors with Virgil Aldag officiating. The family will be at the Mulkey-Mason, Jack Schmitz and Son Funeral Home, 705 N. Locust, Denton on Sunday, March 13, 2011 for visitation from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM.
