October 8, 1964 – January 30, 2022
Douglas Edward Long ascended into heaven the morning of January 30, 2022 after a strong battle against Covid. He was born October the 8, 1964 in De Queen, Arkansas. He graduated from Broken Bow High School in the Class of 82. From that time he would grow to become a proud veteran of the United States Navy.
Today Douglas is survived by his wife, Kay Long; his mother, Wanda Long; his sisters Kayla Phillips and Cheryl Roupe; his daughters, Danielle Long and Kelli Moore; and his grandchildren, Elijah Moore, Adeline Moore, and Archie Moore. Douglas also leaves behind four nieces and four nephews.
Doug was a constant source of inspiration to those around him. He cared for his family and friends very deeply. His appreciation for life and outgoing nature brought a sense of joy that made even the darkest days seem better. His love for his family knew no bounds. He was a man of God who constantly strived to bring joy and comfort to those who were close to him. Heaven gained a pillar whenever they welcomed Doug through the pearly gates.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects to Douglas on Friday February 4, between 3pm and 5pm at Mulkey-Bowles-Montgomery Funeral Home located at 705 North Locust Street, Denton, TX 76201. A graveside service will be held Saturday February 5, at 10am at Roselawn Memorial Park in Memory Gardens section, located at 3801 Roselawn Drive, Denton, Tx, 76207.
