Dorothy Eldredge Phinney Shearer Feucht

December 31, 1925 - April 16, 2016

Dorothy Feucht, 90 passed away peacefully on April 16, 2016. Dorothy was born in her grandparent's home in the Springhill Community of Denton County on New Year's Eve in 1925. She was born to Eldredge M. and Bonnie Donoho Phinney, and grew up in the Aubrey area.

Dorothy was a devoted wife and mother, a woman of strong faith. She married Keith Shearer of the Mustang Community on August 9, 1942, who preceded her in death in 1989. Her children who survive her are Kit Shearer and wife Diana of Denton, and Lisa Snelling and husband Dale of Waco. Grandchildren are Andy Snelling and wife Stephanie of Keller, Lindsey Snelling of Rockwall, and Bonnie Niemeyer and husband Robert of Bedford.

She was also preceded in death by her parents Eldredge and Bonnie Phinney of Denton, her sister Joyce Coleman of Lake Kiowa, her husband Willard Feucht of Denton and his son Chris Feucht of Virginia Beach, VA.

Dorothy is also survived by Willard's children Randy and wife Neita, Cathy Ownby and husband Craig, Barbara Berryman and husband Leslie, and John Feucht and wife Mary Anne.

Dorothy balanced work and family life with grace. She worked as a secretary at First Baptist Church of Denton, Word Publishing and retired as an Administrative Assistant from Denton Baptist Association. From the time that she and Keith moved to Denton after WW II, she was very involved in activities at First Baptist Church, Denton. She leaves a legacy of Christian faith in action.

The family would like to thank the many people who visited Dorothy during her illness, as well as her doctor Tim McGuire and his staff, and wonderful care-givers Bonnie, Gloria, Lucy.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00pm on Wednesday April 20, 2016 at the First Baptist Church of Denton with burial to follow in Belew Cemetery in Aubrey. A visitation will take place on Tuesday evening from 6-8pm at Mulkey-Mason Funeral Home, 705 N. Locust.
