DOROTHY NELL MYERS, age 96, died on Thanksgiving Day, November 23, 2023, in Dallas, Texas.  She was born June 23, 1927 to Maurine Parks and DeWitt L. Myers in Denton, Texas.  Her parents and brother, DeWitt L. Myers, Jr., predeceased her.  She is survived by her sister-in-law, Alice Myers, and various Myers and Parks family members.

Dorothy attended Denton Public Schools and graduated from Howard Payne College (now Howard Payne University) in 1946.  In January of 1947, she began working for the Baptist General Convention of Texas and transferred to Buckner Baptist Benevolences (now Buckner International) in 1972, retiring in 1989.

She was a member of Gaston Avenue-Gaston Oaks Baptist Church since 1959, had served as President of Merriman Park Homeowners Association, as a member of the Executive Board of the Baptist General Convention of Texas, a Board member of Healing Hands Ministries and Gaston Christian Center, and was a friend of Dallas Christian Women's Job Corps.

A memorial service will be held at Gaston Christian Center, 8515 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, on Friday, December 1, at 10:30 a.m.  Burial is scheduled following the service at 2:30 p.m. at Roselawn Memorial Park, Denton.
