On the morning of May 28, 2016, Dorothy passed away at Denton Regional Hospital in Denton, Texas, after a lengthy battle with lung Illnesses. Dorothy was 73 years old. Dorothy was born in Independence, Missouri on November 27, 1942. She was the fifth child, and the youngest daughter of Ernest "Pete" Johnson and Verna Johnson. Dorothy worked and retired from the University of North Texas after 17 years of service. She enjoyed her retirement while spending time and sharing stories with her family and friends. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Oscar Johnson and Roland "Muggs" Johnson. She is survived by 2 sisters, Dollie Boyer of Warsaw, Missouri, and Delia Peters of Blue Springs, Missouri. Dorothy was blessed with 2 children, Anna "Missy" Sevier and her husband, Tommy of Denton, Texas, Bill Jenkins and his wife, Nancy of Enid, Oklahoma. Dorothy has 3 grandchildren, Brandy Fisher and husband Bradley of Denton, Texas, Jason Hughes and significant other Emily Alton of Marble Falls, Texas and Emily Marti and her husband Chris of Felton, Delaware. Great Grandchildren include Kobey Hughes, Brittian Fisher, Nolan Marti, Eli Marti, and a new baby boy, Hughes on the way.
