Doris Ann (Glover) Roush

October 3, 1938 – May 31, 2026

Doris Ann Roush, 87, of Denton, Texas, passed away peacefully on May 31, 2026.

Born on October 3, 1938, in Fort Cobb, Oklahoma, Doris spent her childhood and early years in the close-knit community she loved. She graduated from Fort Cobb High School and later attended Southwestern State College in Weatherford, Oklahoma. During these formative years, she developed the strong values of faith, family, hard work, and kindness that would guide her throughout her life.

At the age of 24, Doris married the love of her life, H. Jerry Roush, and together they built a life centered on family, faith, and community. They settled in Denton, Texas, where Doris made her home for the remainder of her life and where they raised their son, Scott Alan Roush, who was born in 1963.

Doris was preceded in death by her beloved husband, H. Jerry Roush; her parents, Chester Arthur "Chet" Glover and Blanche Glover; her sisters, Joy Hawkins and Catherine Sublett; and her brother, Bill Glover.

She is survived by her son, Scott Alan Roush, and daughter-in-law, Debbie Roush; her grandchildren, Ashley Ann Waggoner and husband Riley Bo Waggoner, Alisha Sims and spouse Janet Britz, and Karissa Casas and husband Jerry Casas; and her cherished great-grandchildren, Emmitt Odin Waggoner, Ruby Josephine Waggoner, and Max Casas.

Doris was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend whose greatest joy in life was her family. Known lovingly as "MalMal" to her grandchildren, she treasured every moment spent with those she loved and created a home filled with warmth, laughter, and unconditional love.

Throughout her life, Doris dedicated herself to serving others. She began her career working for the state school in Oklahoma before moving to Texas, where she served as secretary to the Dean at Texas Woman's University. After retiring from TWU, she continued sharing her warmth and kindness through her work at the hospital gift shop, where she enjoyed connecting with people and brightening their day.

A faithful member of First United Methodist Church, Doris's relationship with the Lord was a cornerstone of her life. Her Christian faith provided strength, comfort, and guidance throughout her life and shaped the way she loved and served others. She lived her faith through compassion, generosity, and kindness, always striving to reflect God's love in her daily actions. Whether preparing a favorite meal, offering encouragement, lending a helping hand, or simply sharing her time, Doris consistently put others before herself.

She loved spending time with family and friends, cooking and baking for those she loved, traveling, and caring for animals. Her family was the center of her world, and some of her happiest moments were spent gathered around the table, sharing stories, laughter, and memories with those she held dear.

Those who knew Doris will remember her vibrant spirit, infectious laugh, and beautiful smile that could light up any room. She never met a stranger and had a gift for making others feel welcomed and loved. Her kindness, generosity, and devotion to family left a lasting impact on all who knew her.

While her family deeply mourns her passing, they find comfort in knowing she is reunited with her beloved husband and loved ones who went before her and is now at peace in the presence of her Lord and Savior. Her legacy of faith, love, and kindness will live on through her family and all those whose lives she touched.

Doris will be deeply missed, forever loved, and always remembered.
