DORIS DELAINE OWENS

DORIS DELAINE OWENS, nee MORGAN, age 93, died on May 10, 2022, in Denton, Denton
County, Texas.
DORIS is survived by her daughter, Rebecca Felt, of Denton, Texas; her Grandson, Joshua Felt, his
wife Esther Felt, and their Daughter Lucy Felt, of Plano, Texas; and her Grandson Jonathan Felt, of
Dallas, Texas. She is preceded in death by her Son, Nicholas Owens of Carrollton, Texas; her
parents, Lucy and Lang Morgan, her sister, Inez Ralston; and her sister, Connie Briggs.
Doris was born on November 29, 1928, in Childress, Texas, to parents Lucy Belle Morgan and Lang
Morgan. She graduated from Texas Women's University and received her Master's in Specialized
Education, then was asked to go to work in Corpus Christi.
Doris was a social, and active woman who was deeply involved in her teacher work for much of her
life, she even started the Preschool Program at Ray High School in Corpus Christi. She enjoyed
cooking, sewing, and spending time with her family. Her family and friends will always remember
her as a spitfire of a woman who loved to help a person in need. She was always someone you
could count on.
A Viewing is scheduled for 10:00am on Friday, May 20, 2022, at Mt. Pilgrim C.M.E. Church at 339
Robertson Street, Denton, Texas. The funeral is scheduled for 11:00am on Friday, May 20,2022, at
Mt. Pilgrim C.M.E. Church, with the internment to follow at Roselawn Memorial Park, 3801
Roselawn Drive, Denton, Texas 76207. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Doris's life. The
family would like to thank everyone for their support and love as we grieve the loss of Doris.
