Doris C. Knappenberger, age 75, of Double Oak, Texas, passed away Thursday, February 5, 2009, at her home surrounded by her loving family.
She was born May 19, 1933 in Cameron, Texas to Belmont C. Cluck and Myrtle Ann Small Cluck. Doris married Charles R. Knappenberger on June 15, 1950 in Texas City, Texas. She taught in public schools for 34 years, 24 years in Texas City and 10 years in the Lewisville Independent School District. Doris was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma and the Texas State Teachers Association.
She is survived by her husband, Charles; son, Mark Knappenberger; grandchildren, Allen, Michelle and Mistry Knappenberger; several great grandchildren; sister, Pauline Arnold; niece, Brenda Maenza and great niece, Marisa Maenza.
Funeral service will be held 3:00 p.m. Sunday, February 8, 2009, at Mulkey-Mason Funeral Home in Lewisville. The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. prior to service. Interment will follow at 1:00 p.m. Monday, February 9, 2009, at Oak Hill Cemetery in Cameron, Texas. The family requests memorial contributions made to Ann's Haven VNA Hospice in Denton, Texas.
