Donna Eloise Bateman Hoover, 83, passed away peacefully at Texas Presbyterian Hospital on Friday, May 4, 2012.

Born in Nevada, Missouri, Donna graduated from Cottey College where she majored in business. Donna retired from a life-long career with Sanger Harris in their corporate Dallas office. Upon retirement, she and her husband, Norman, moved to Denton to be closer to their grandchildren. In Denton, where she resided for the past 21years, Donna continued her passion for reading, gardening and traveling with her husband and grandchildren.

Donna is survived by her two daughters, Julie and her husband Leonard Vedlitz of Richardson, and Ellen and her husband John M. Walker, Jr. of Austin, and two grandchildren, Eric Schertz of Gainesville and Nicole Schertz of Austin. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 53 years, Norman Hoover, in 2007.

A gravesite service will be held to celebrate Donna's life at the Dallas/Fort Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas, Texas 75211, on Friday May 11, 2012, at 3 P.M.. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Denton Public Library, 3228 Teasley Lane, Denton, Texas 76210.
