IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Donald Eugene
Turner
October 6, 1932 – February 22, 2022
Donald Eugene Turner, 89 of Denton, went to his heavenly home on Tuesday, February 22 after a courageous fight with Parkinson's Disease. Although we will greatly miss him, we rejoice that his suffering has ended. Our special Husband, Dad, Pop-Pop and Great Pa will always be in our hearts.
Don was born in Greensburg, Ohio on October 6, 1932, to Jennings and Lillian Turner. He graduated from Greensburg High School in 1950 and married his high school sweetheart Kathleen Holb 2 years later. Don defined the words "self-made man." He began his career in the paper business by working in the warehouse. He then moved into sales and eventually management for both Mead and Ris Papers. He was actively involved with the Akron Craftsman's Club, ultimately serving as president. Don was involved in several local churches over the years. His quiet faith guided his later life.
Don was a golfing, gardening, and travel enthusiast. Besides his loving commitment to his family, flying was his passion. He earned his private pilot's license in 1972 and never looked back. He especially enjoyed flying upside down!
He is now reunited in heaven with his first born son, Donald. His remaining family members will forever cherish this remarkable man. He was preceded in death by brothers J.C. and Richard Turner and his sister Mary Kathleen Sayre.
Survivors include his wife of 69 years Kathleen, daughter Kathy and her husband Randy Gardiner. Son Jim and spouse Debbie. Three grandchildren Joy Robb (D.C.) Emily Smith (Phoenix) and Matthew Turner (Carrolton). Four great grandchildren Sawyer and Henry Smith and Beckett and Aiden Robb.
