Donald B. Finlayson, age 90, of Denton, TX, passed away on September 7, 2011. He was born in Chicago, IL on February 5, 1921 to James and Agnes Finlayson. He was preceded in death by Lucille (Wilk) Finlayson, his beloved wife of 48 years; dear son, Michael; brothers, James (late Janice) and Warren (Alice). Left to cherish his memories are son, Robert (Mary Ann) Finlayson of Oakland, CA and daughter, Judie (Don) Winn of Corinth, TX; grandchildren, Michael Winn, Dr. Jennifer (Francis) Yoshimoto, Andrew Winn, and Kelsey Finlayson; great-grandson Jacoby Hyer.
Don served his country in WWII as an Army Corporal in the 168th Ordnance Depot. He was injured in combat during the invasion of Leyte in the Philippines. He was happiest telling jokes to family and friends.
He was a member of Saint Mark Catholic Church in Denton, TX. Interment will be at Assumption Cemetery in Glenwood, IL on September 17, 2011. Special recognition is given for the compassionate care he received by Dr.'s Charney, Spivey, and Saraiya along with the staff of DRMC's PCU during his final days.
