Don Wayne Gann, 82, of the Aubrey/Sanger area passed away Friday, January 16, 2026 at Baylor, Scott, White Hospital in Frisco.
He was born November 27, 1943 at the “old” Denton Hospital to the Peddy Ford Gann and Virginia Lois Moon. He graduated from Ponder High School, May 19, 1961. He married Peggy Jo Blagg on May 24, 1963.
He traveled with a harvesting crew as a teenager and later became a package boy at Wyatt’s Food Store in Denton. He worked at Mathes Air Conditioning in Dallas, progressing from the assembly line to management. His last years, before retirement, were spent as Purchasing Agent for Boise Cascade in Garland. He was a lifetime member of the NRA. He was quite accomplished at leather craft, including wall hangings, belts and ladies clutch purses.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Peddy and Virginia Gann: also an infant son Eric Gregory Gann.
Survivors include his wife, Peggy, of 63 years; two sons and daughters-in-law; Jeff and Dedra Gann of Weeki Wachi, Florida and Victor and Shannon Gann of Sanger. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren, Victoria and Evie Gann of Sanger, Robert Gann, Melody Lorenzo, Peggy Reid, Christina McClure, Jessica Brown; several great-grandchildren and one great, great-grandchild of Florida. Brother and sister-in-law, Danny and Deb Blagg also survive.
A visitation will be held from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Wednesday, January 21, 2026 at Mulkey-Bowles-Montgomery Funeral Home, 705 N. Locust St., Denton. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, January 22, 2026 at Roselawn Memorial Park, 3801 Roselawn Drive, Denton, TX.
