D.L. Faught, 87, of Denton, died Saturday October 31, 2009 at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital of Denton.
D.L. Faught was born on September 26, 1922 at home in Argyle to A.G. and Annie (Adams) Faught. He was married to Frances McCormick on September 1, 1946 at the Little Chapel-in-the-Woods in Denton. He was retired from the Soil Conservation Service after thirty years designing dams, watersheds and working with local farmers; he also worked as a design engineer for Freese and Nichols of Fort Worth for five years. He was a deacon for over forty years and taught Sunday School for over sixty years. He was past Worshipful Master for the Denton Masonic Lodge for two terms and held lifetime membership conferred in 1998 after fifty years of Masonic service. He was past president and member of the Denton Lions Club for over twenty years.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday November 4, 2009 at Highland Baptist Church. Rev. Eddie Schafer will officiate the service. Interment will follow at Prairie Mound Cemetery, Argyle. Visitation will be from 6:00 PM to 8:00 Tuesday November 3 at the funeral home.
He is survived by his wife, Frances Faught of Denton; daughters, Diane Faught Harlow of Garland, Janet Faught VonRoeder of Fort Worth; sister, Anna Faught Sandstrum of Denton; grandchildren, Jessica VonRoeder, Michael VonRoeder, Kim Faught, Alexa Harlow Griffith; great grandchildren, Makayla Achuff, Jessica Griffith, Ian Griffith, Jack Griffith, Micah Griffith; seven nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Karen Faught; brothers, James A. Faught, Edwin L. Faught, T.B. Faught; sister, Merle Faught Smith.
