Dena LaNae Kramer
July 31, 1954 - May 26, 2024
Surrounded by her family, Dena LaNae Kramer of Denton, TX, passed away on May 26, 2024, after her struggle with Pulmonary Fibrosis. Her family is comforted in knowing her faith has become sight and she is no longer suffering. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, who left us at the age of 69.
Dena was born on July 31, 1954, in Culver City, California, to Gene Raymond and Shirley Charlene (Huneck) Page. She graduated from Simi Valley High School in 1972. While still in high school, Dena met the love of her life, Denver DePaul Kramer who was in the Navy and stationed at Naval Hospital in San Diego, CA. They were married on August 11, 1973, in California. Dena and Denver began their marriage living in Maryland. They also lived in Virginia, Michigan, Ohio, and Texas. Dena had made her home in Texas since 1988 when they moved to The Colony. In 2017, they moved to Denton to be closer to family.
Dena was a devoted and loving wife to Denver for 50 wonderful years, creating a partnership filled with love, laughter, and enduring commitment. She was a loving mother to Elizabeth, Eric, and Anthony and a cherished grandmother to Gabriel, Emma, Benjamin, and Drake. Dena was always there for her family when needed, offering boundless support, wisdom, and love. Her nurturing spirit and unwavering dedication created a foundation of strength and compassion for her family. She was the heart and soul of her family.
Dena had a passion for crafting, sewing, and quilting, and volunteered once a week with The Women's Fellowship of Poetry United Methodist Church. She drove an hour and a half each way every Wednesday to make lap quilts, prayer shawls, chemo caps, catheter bag covers, adult bibs, baby booties, leg warmers, pillows, afghans, helmet liners, layettes, and small cotton-filled toys for children to squeeze while getting a shot. These were distributed to children's hospital wards, nursing homes, assisted living homes, hospice groups, U.S. military bases, and other places of need. Dena loved helping others but she also loved the women she served with each week and called each one of them a friend.
As a friend to many, Dena touched countless lives with her kindness and generosity. If you had nowhere to go for a meal, there was always room at her table with plenty of food for all. She took care of her friends in times of need and wouldn't hesitate to give the shirt off her back to help someone out. Many of her children's friends called her "Mom". Her legacy of love and friendship will continue to inspire all who were fortunate to know her.
Dena is survived by her husband, Denver Kramer of Denton, TX, children, Elizabeth (David) Anderson of Denton, TX, Eric (Sara) Kramer of Euless, TX, Anthony Kramer of Denton, TX, four grandchildren, Gabriel Anderson, Emma Anderson, Benjamin Anderson, and Drake Vickers, father, Gene Raymond Page of Fresno, CA, siblings, Evelyn (John) Ferraro of Rockwall, TX, Karin Metheny of Kerman, CA, and Keven (Lori) Page of Fresno, CA, uncle, Frank (Maryvonne) Huneck of Simi Valley, CA and many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends whom she loved dearly.
