David Manning, beloved son, husband, father, brother, and friend passed away Sunday, May 23, 2021 in his home in Denton, TX surrounded by his wife and two children.

David was born March 28, 1960 in Brownwood, TX to Larry and Beth Manning. He graduated from Denton High School in 1978 and received a Bachelors degree from North Texas State University, now University of North Texas, in 1984. During his time at North Texas, he was an active member of the Theta Chi fraternity where he met many of his lifelong friends. In 1985, David married Lisa Mangold. They had two beautiful children Brooke and Blake. David later married his current wife Joy Manning on March 2, 2015. They enjoyed the last 6 years of marriage together spending lots of time with their blended family and friends.

After graduating from North Texas, David got his first "real job" in Dallas. He quickly realized the corporate world was not for him, so he purchased his first company where he manufactured and sold septic tanks. This was the beginning of his long and successful career as an entrepreneur. David then spent many years building and remodeling homes in Denton County. He also spent a couple of years traveling to replace roofs after hurricanes in Florida, Louisiana, and South Texas.

To know David was to love him. He was sarcastic, fun loving, and truly enjoyed life. He enjoyed fishing any time he could get on the water, and his absolute favorite place was the beach. He always enjoyed spending time with those he loved. His face would light up when talked about his children.

David was preceded in death by his grandparents, Paul and Nadine Manning and Clyde and Zeola Tucker. He is survived by his wife Joy Manning; his daughter Brooke Manning of Denton, TX; his son Blake Manning (Whitney) of Lewisville, TX; his stepdaughters Whitney Harrison (Will), Chelsey Wilson (Jason), Amorey Jackson, and Malorey Longcrier (Zak); parents Larry and Beth Manning of Denton; siblings Dianne White (Paul) of Denton, Donald Manning (Suzanne) of Argyle; and many extended family members and friends.

Visitation will be held at Gateway Baptist Church on Friday, May 28, 2021 at 12:30 pm. Funeral service to follow at 2:30 pm.

Flowers are welcome and may be sent to Mulkey-Bowles-Montgomery funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Liver Foundation.
