David C. "Hooker" Harris, 71, of Justin, passed away on February 3, 2009 at Presbyterian Hospital of Denton.  He was born February 15, 1937 in Denton County, to Omer and Lois (Barnett) Harris.  He attended the Krum Public Schools, and was a member of the Krum Assembly of God Church.  He was a Harvester and Trucker, retiring from the Sunmount Trucking Co.  He also volunteered for the Justin Fire Department.

A funeral service will be held at 10;00 A.M. on Friday, February 6, 2009 at the Justin First Baptist Church, with Rev. Jason Sidler, and Rev. Joe Mayo, officiating.  Burial will follow in the Justin Cemetery.  The family will be at the Mulkey-Mason, Jack Schmitz and Son Funeral Home, 705 N. Locust, Denton, on Thursday, February 5, 2009 for visitation from 6 P.M. until 8 P.M. Memorials may be made to the Justin Volunteer Fire Department, P.O. Box 613, Justijn, TX 76247

Mr. Harris is survived by his wife, Jerry May Harris, of Justin,   daughters,  and sons in law Traci and Randy Dietzmann, of Justin,  Bonnie and David Hill,  of Arlington, a Son,  David C. Harris, II of Justin, three sisters,  Sue Amyx, and husband  Don, Ruth Terrill, and Joan Harris, all of Denton, seven Grandsons,  Jamie Harris, Kevin Harris, Stuart, Rendon, Quirt, Wyatt, and Ty Dietzmann, two granddaughters, Anna Hill, and Vanessa Dietzmann, and four great Grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by a Grandson, Cory S. Hill, two sisters,  Lorene Prater, and Evelyn Barton,  and a brother Olen C. Harris.
