IN LOVING MEMORY OF
David Joseph
Engfer
July 3, 1983 – September 19, 2025
It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of David Joseph Engfer, aged 42, on September 19, 2025, in Argyle, Texas. Following a 19-month courageous fight against brain cancer, he was called to Heaven to be with the Lord. David was a beloved husband, father, son, and brother. We were blessed to have been loved by him, and he will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate to know him.
David was born on July 3, 1983, in Fullerton, California. Throughout his childhood, his family moved to Massachusetts, Florida, New York, and Texas. He graduated from Southlake Carroll High School in 2002 and from Baylor University in 2006, where he earned a degree in Bioinformatics.
In 2007, David met Andrea in a small group for singles at Fellowship Church in Grapevine. He proposed on New Year's Eve, and they married on August 9, 2008. David and Andrea welcomed their first daughter, Ava, on September 25, 2013, and their second daughter, Sophia, on July 9, 2016.
David had a successful career in Information Technology. He began at USAA as an IT programer/analyst. He then moved to Northrop Grumman, where he worked as a software developer. For the past 15 years, David worked in various roles for Pariveda Solutions. His most recent role was Vice President, which was his big professional goal. Inspired by David, leaders at Pariveda created the GRIT (Galvanizing, Relational, Inspirational, and Tenacious) Award not just because of his contributions, but also because of his leadership and commitment to others. In addition to his full-time role at Pariveda Solutions, David served students for 9 years at Baylor University, where he was an adjunct professor in the Department of Computer Science. He has also served on the department's industrial board since 2014. Baylor University most recently honored David with the 2025-2026 Gold Award for alumni, recognizing his leadership and excellence in his profession.
The Engfer family has lived in Argyle, Texas for the past 9 years, where they have cultivated meaningful connections and a strong community. For over 12 years, they have been dedicated members of Milestone Church, where they have also co-led a couples' small group.
David's Christian faith, humor, and positive attitude were an inspiration to others. He took immense pride in his family, cherishing them deeply. David loved traveling with his family and friends, biking, and all things Disney.
He is survived by his wife and their two daughters, who treasure his memory and draw strength from the legacy he leaves behind; his parents, Kevin and Barbara Engfer; his sister, Angela Pickens; and four nephews. His family has the hope of being reunited with him one day in eternity.
A memorial service for David will be held on Friday, October 3, 2025, at Milestone church in Keller. A reception will immediately follow the celebration.
