Dr. Darwin Eugene Peek, 76, of Clairemont, Kent County, Texas, died Friday, August 11, 2017 surrounded by family at his home in McKinney.
Dr. Peek was born in Rotan, TX, on Friday the 13 ^th of December, 1940, during an ice storm to Judge E. V. and Dorothy Alice (Cate) Peek. He earned his BS degree in mathematics from Arlington State College (now the University of Texas at Arlington); his MS degree in mathematics from North Texas State University (now the University of North Texas); and his PhD in mathematics from the University of Texas at Austin. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Charlene Davis and nephew, Keith Estes.
He was an accomplished author and inventor. He also served on the SCUC ISD board of trustees and volunteered for several youth organizations. He retired after thirty-six years as a mathematics professor at Trinity University in San Antonio.
He is survived by his twin daughters, Peggy Ann Peek of Rockville, MD, Penny Ann Peek-Davis and her husband Mike of Melissa, TX; son, David Eugene Peek and his wife, Kristy of Rowlett, TX; grandchildren, Katie Davis, Nathaniel Peek, Jackson Clinesmith, Samuel Peek, Hettie Peek, Katie-Beth Peek, Daniel Peek; stepdaughter, Susan Kempf and her husband Bill and their children, Amelia, Liam, Patrick, Lleyton; sister, Wanda Estes of Arlington; numerous cousins and beloved nieces and nephews.  He was also preceded in death by his wife, Willa Mary Peek, and the mother of his children, Patricia Ann Peek.
A visitation will be held from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Tuesday, August 15, 2017 at Mulkey-Bowles-Montgomery Funeral Home, 705 N. Locust St., Denton. The funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, August 16, 2017 in the funeral home chapel.  Dr. Peek's nephew, J.C. Davis will officiate the service.
