Danny Lee Gholston, 79, went to be with the Lord on May 3, 2026. Dan was born on March 4, 1947 in Clinton, Oklahoma to Jake and Hazel Gholston. He graduated from Northridge High School in 1965. Dan enlisted that same year and served in the U.S. Navy, graduating from Naval Nuclear Power School.

In August of 1968, Dan married Lilly Ehlers. In January 1970, Jeremy James was born.

Dan was employed by Exxon, IBM and Microsoft, where he was a senior engineer mentor and as original member of the Microsoft Excel Team of Las Colinas, Texas. He loved history, computers, reading, playing war games and road trips.

Dan was an active member of Hope Luthern Church in Corinth, Texas

Preceded in death by his parents and many friends, Dan is survived by his wife Lilly of 57 years, son James, brothers Guy Gholston and wife Rebecca, Steve Gholston and his wife Glenda, nephews Craig, Glenn and Kelly Gholston, niece Jaci Pitts, and grand nephews and nieces. He is also survived by his in-laws Arleen Pfeiffer, John and Orville Ehlers and many nieces and nephews, great nephews and nieces, as well as many long-time friends.

Memorial Services will be held at 10:30am, Saturday, June 20, 2026 at Hope Luthern Church, 2550 Post Oak Dr., Corinth, Texas 76210 with the Reverand Wayne Hamit officiating.
