IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Curtis Allen
Lee
September 24, 1947 – March 27, 2025
Curtis Allen Lee, 77, passed away on March 27, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of hard work, kindness, and quiet strength—along with an unshakable devotion to the Dallas Cowboys, no matter how many times they let him down. Curtis had a naturally easy-going spirit and was the kind of man who made people feel at ease the moment they met him. He was generous with his heart, his love, and his laughter. He found joy in the simple things and loved the outdoors—golfing, hiking, swimming, or simply sitting outside on a warm evening, enjoying conversation with family and friends.
Born on September 24, 1947, in Crockett, Texas, Curtis became a hometown star as the captain of both the baseball and football teams. He did not go on to play after high school, yet his love of sports endured. Though he had hopes of attending the Air Force Academy to become a pilot, life nudged him in a different direction. He attended the University of North Texas in Denton before beginning a long and successful career in computer programming—work that opened doors for travel and gave him new experiences, perspectives, and stories to share.
Curtis had a sweet tooth for life—and for ice cream, which he enjoyed washing down with an ice-cold Pepsi. He found happiness in the everyday moments: cheering on his favorite team, watching a good movie, or enjoying a quiet evening with those he loved. Behind those simple pleasures was a man with a steady presence and a deep love for his family.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Janet, and a blended family of eight children—Dayna, Denise, Jason, and Ryan, as well as Eric, Joel, Jayme, and Laurel—along with 13 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. His role as grandfather was one that he treasured and adored, always ready to play and create special moments with them. He also leaves behind his mother, Betty, and two brothers, Tom and Dave. He is reunited in peace with his father, Earnest, and his brother, Fred.
Curtis lived a full life, filled with love, laughter, and a deep appreciation for music, enjoying nights out dancing with his wife. He was a man of faith and an active member of St. Mark Catholic Church, where he found community and purpose. As a dedicated member of the Knights of Columbus, he lived out his values of service and fellowship. He worked hard and found peace in quiet, relaxing evenings at home with family. Though words can never fully capture the life he lived or the impact he had, those who knew Curtis will carry his memory with them always—in the music he loved, the memories he built, the laughter he shared, and the love he gave. He will be deeply missed.
