November 10, 1938 – July 23, 2017
Curtis Elton Harmon was born on November 10, 1938 in Indianola, Oklahoma and passed away July 23, 2017 in Denton, Texas. He was the first born son to Johnnie Junior Harmon and Mary Alma Cathey. Before graduating high school Curtis joined the United States Air Force and was honorably discharged as a Second Class Airman after 12 years of service. Following his military service he settled in Denton, Texas and married his wife of 44 years, Lou Ann Nichols. During their years together Curtis spent his free time dirt track racing, attending martial arts classes and riding his motorcycle. What first began as helping a friend work on their race car soon blossomed into building and racing his own car known as Daylie's Pop. Next Curtis found enjoyment attending martial arts classes and often times found himself the oldest in his classes as he advanced. And lastly, he fulfilled his dream of owning a Harley Davidson motorcycle which he rode around the back roads of Denton County. During his life, Curtis worked as a mechanic and retired from the printing business in 2006. Curtis was a soft spoken man who loved his family and spent most of time attending his daughter's activities and later attending his grandchildren's sporting events and napping with "his boy" Huck.
Curtis is preceded in death by his mother, father, Johnnie and Alma and two brothers, Charles Dewayne Harmon and Roger Dale Harmon. He is survived by his wife, Lou Ann Harmon, his daughter and son-in-law, Tonya and Scotty Taylor. Three sons, Steve Harmon, Scott Harmon and David Gray.
