Obituary

C.P. "Laddie" Mulkey passed away on May 5, 2015. He was born to W.H. and Iva Lee Mulkey on November 11, 1930 in Texhoma, Oklahoma. As a young boy, he and his family moved to Denton, Texas. He graduated from North Texas Laboratory High School in 1948 and shortly afterwards joined the U.S. Navy. After leaving the Navy he returned to Denton, soon after returning he met Claudia Montgomery whom he would go onto marry on July 3, 1952. He was a long time business man in Denton County, owning multiple car washes, a hardware store, and a car care center.
He is survived by his children, Penni Mason and husband Monte of Denton, Rodney Mulkey and wife Misty of Oklahoma city, OK, Cindy Ueland and husband Peter of Denton, and Ricky Mulkey of Denton. He is also survived by his 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; sister, Iva Nell Evans of Brownwood, and brother, Joe Mulkey of Krugerville. He was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years Claudia Mulkey, his parents W.H. and Iva Lee Mulkey, brothers, Waymon and Pete Mulkey, and sister Betty Baker.
Visitation will be on Thursday, May 7, 2015 from 6 PM to 8 PM at Mulkey Mason Funeral Home. Service will be on Friday, May 8, 2015 at 1:00 PM at First Baptist Church, with burial following at Roselawn Memorial Park.
