Obituary

Corean Cowan Ackermann, was born on October 16, 1923 on a farm near Frisco, and passed away on September 16, 2005 at her residence in Denton. She was the first of four children born to C. B. and Bessie Cowan. Her schooling included Denton High School, Texas Women's University, and Baylor University School of Nursing where she received her R. N. Degree. She was preceded in death by husband William J. Emmett, her parents and brothers, C. B. Cowan, Jr. and Kenneth Cowan.

She is survived by husband, Frederick A. Ackermann, son, Michael Cowan Emmett and wife Ginny of Chicago, Illinois and two grandchildren, Bridget Marie and Robert Michael Emmett, sister Marj Cowan Frederiksen, sister-in-law, Julia Cowan, aunt Birdie Cowan, brother-in-law Robert Emmett and wife, Connie, and several nieces and nephews.

She fought a brave and courageous 10-year battle with ovarian cancer, and was an inspiration for her faith and by all who knew her.

Visitation will be held at the Mulkey-Mason Funeral Home on Sunday, September 18, 2005 from 4 P.M. until 6 P.M. and a service will be held at gateway United Baptist Church at 10:30 A. M. Monday, September 19, 2005, followed by burial at Roselawn Memorial Park. Rev. Buddy Owens will officiate.
