Connie Minnette Arden Craig Suttle, 85, of Colorado Springs, CO, formerly of Denton, TX (1969-1999), passed away on Tuesday, June 7, 2018 at Brookdale Bear Creek, where she was a resident. She succumbed to the effects of Alzheimer's disease that she had for many years and died peacefully in her sleep.
She was born in Corpus Christi, TX on October 25, 1932 to Gaynelle Porter and Conway Craig. She graduated from Corpus Christi High School in 1949 and then started off her freshman year at SMU in Dallas, TX.  Her sophomore year (1950), she transferred to UT in Austin and remained there as an Education major and finished up her certification by student teaching through UT at Houston. She then taught in an elementary school for a few years. In 1956 she moved to Dallas with a couple of her teacher friends from Houston and that's where she met John H. Suttle in early 1960.
They got married March 11, 1961 and resided in Queens, NY, where he was an American Airlines pilot at nearby La Guardia Airport. By early 1962 they moved to San Mateo, CA and that is where on June 1, 1962, Michelle Annette Suttle was born.  In the fall of 1964, they moved to Greenwich, CT and on October 27, 1965, John Harris II was born. John, her husband, got transferred back to Dallas Love Field and they chose to move to Denton, Texas in late August of 1969. Connie was very active in First Baptist Church for a while and then she and John both became members of Denton Bible Church in 1980.
Soon after John's death (1992), she moved to Colorado Springs, CO in September of 1999 and enjoyed having her children come visit her there. She enjoyed going hiking on trails and attended New Life Church until the Alzheimer's made it not possible to do as much. In late May of 2015, she was moved into Brookdale Bear Creek where she was cared for until her passing on June 7, 2018.
Connie was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Patsy Gannaway, and her husband, John.  She is survived by her daughter, Michelle (Micki) A. Suttle of Round Rock, TX and her son, John H. Suttle II of Denton, TX.
Her funeral service will be on Saturday, June 30, 2018 at 2pm at Mulkey-Bowles- Montgomery Funeral Home's chapel with graveside service following at Roselawn Memorial Park.
