We are sad to announce the passing of our beloved Connie Jo Armel of Krum, TX. She passed away at age 69 on October 9, 2022. Connie passed away peacefully at her home after a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by her loved ones.

Connie was born on June 16, 1953 to Robert and Bonnie Guillaume in Oklahoma City, OK. Three years later, she became a big sister to Robin. They grew up together in Edmond, OK, where Connie graduated high school in 1971. On Valentine's Day 1981, she met Butch Armel, the love of her life, on a blind date. Seven months later, Connie and Butch exchanged vows and got married in Krum, TX, and were partnered in life for over 41 years. After the wedding, they took residence in Gainesville, TX. Two years later in 1983, Connie gave birth to their first child, a baby girl named Cheyenne. In 1985, they welcomed their son Benjamin to the world and their family was complete. Later that year, they moved to Krum, TX, where they raised their two children and built a wonderful life for themselves and their family. In 2011, Connie was blessed with a grandson, Alexander.

Connie had a loving and compassionate personality, and was known for her resilience, kindness, and ability to listen, feel, and care for everyone: "Let our hearts be stretched out in compassion toward others, for everyone is walking their own difficult path." She was generous and took extreme pride in her family. Besides spending time with her family and friends, Connie loved music, concerts, and dancing. She loved everyone and everyone loved her. Once you were in Connie's orbit, you were in it for life. She could remember birthdays better than anyone. She touched so many lives with her generosity and affection. She will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by many friends and all her family members.

She is survived by her husband Butch Armel of Krum, TX; her daughter Cheyenne, son-in-law Danny Defee, and grandson Alexander of Denton, TX; son Benjamin Armel and son-in-law Chris Sayasith of New York, NY; and sister Robin, brother-in-law Rick and nephews Adam and Aaron Krejci of Edmond, OK. She is preceded in death by her father Robert and mother Bonnie Guillaume of Edmond, OK.

Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service and potluck reception on Friday, October 14th at 2pm at 2663 Hillview Drive, Krum, TX 76249. As Connie's favorite color was blue, please consider wearing something blue to remember her. Flowers can be ordered via Flowergarden118 in Denton, TX. There will be light food and refreshments served after the service until 6pm.
