Colter Dean Bright, age 20, of Bedford, Texas passed away Thursday, August 20, 2009, in College Station, Texas.
He was born March 21, 1989 in Bedford , Texas to Michael Dean Bright and Patricia Ann McDonald Bright. Colter was raised in Jupiter, Florida, Atlanta, Georgia, Bel Air, Maryland, Davidsonville, Maryland and Flower Mound, Texas. He was a 2007 graduate of Marcus High School in Flower Mound, attended Blinn College for two years and was currently enrolled at Texas A & M Univeristy.
He is survived by his mother, Patsy Bright of Bedford; father, Mike Bright of Mansfield, Texas; sister, Lauren Bright of Denton, Texas; his twin brother, Sam Bright of Mansfield; half-brother, Byron Rounsavall of Forney, Texas; grandfather, Floyd Bright of Grapevine, Texas and uncles, Phillip Bright and Kenny McDonald and his wife, Ann.
Colter was a gift to us all, and he touched many lives everyplace he went. He loved all sports from soccer, basketball, football, and especially baseball. While playing Soccer in Bel Air, Maryland, his team won the Beltway Championship. AS quarterback of his JV football team at South River High School, he led his team to an undefeated season. He was also a standout baseball player both at South River High school in Maryland, and at Marcus High School in Flower Mound, Texas. His time with us was too short, but he is with his Grandparents in Heaven now, watching over us.
Funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, at Trietsch Memorial United Methodist Church in Flower Mound. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. Monday, at Mulkey-Mason Funeral Home in Lewisville. There will also be a memorial service for Colter at the Davidsonville United Methodist Church in Davidsonville, Maryland on Saturday September 5th at 1:00. The family requests memorial contributions made to the Colter Bright Memorial Baseball Scholarship, c/o Wells Fargo Bank, 2628 Long Prairie Road, Flower Mound, TX 75022.
