Colleen Sue Buckley, age 67, passed away peacefully on November 4, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. Born on February 2, 1957, in Fort Knox, Kentucky to Ernest and Mildred Tolliver. Colleen was one of seven siblings: John, Patricia, Diana, Gene, Danny, and Deanna. In 1973, Mildred remarried Dean Sandner who became a beloved stepfather to Colleen. In her teenage years, Colleen's family moved to Dallas, where she attended MacArthur High School.

At 19, Colleen met George Buckley, and the two quickly fell in love. They married on September 23, 1978, and together had four children: Marie, George, William, and Clayton. In 1984, the Buckleys moved to Valley View, Texas, where they established deep roots in the community.

As the matriarch of her family, Colleen was known for her boundless love, especially for her grandchildren. Friends remember her constant smile and joyful presence in all circumstances. Colleen is survived by her beloved husband, George; her children Marie Buckley, George Buckley III, William Buckley, and Clay Buckley (Amanda); her sisters Patricia Cohen and Deanna Sandner and brother Gene Tolliver; along with 14 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her brother John Tolliver, sister Diana Vanek, and brother Danny Vanek.

A visitation will be held from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Friday, November 8, 2024, at Mulkey-Bowles Montgomery Funeral Home, 705 N. Locust St., Denton. A graveside service will follow on Saturday, November 9, 2024, at 12:00 pm at Valley View Cemetery.
