Obituary

Clyde E Sims, 90, of Denton, died Wednesday, July 4, 2007 at his home. He was born February 28, 1917 in Collin County, Texas to Ed and Beulah Bell (Brady) Sims. He was a graduate of Carrollton High School in 1936. He is a member of the First United Methodist Church of Denton, and is a retired Lt. Col. Of the United States Air Force, (Army Air Corps) serving in both World War II, and the Korean War, and Viet Nam, he served twenty-three years, he received the American Defense Service Metal, WW II Victory Medal, Koeran Service Medal, United Nations Service Medal, Distinguished Flying Cross, and the US Air Force Medal with 2 Oak Clusters, He was also retired from Dallas County Clerks Administration Office. He was married to Helen Baker, Feb. 19, 1946 in Savannah, GA, she died in 1977, then he married Alta Ruth Farrell in 1980 in Denton, she died in 2005.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, July 10, 2007 at the Restland Abbey Chapel in Dallas, with Rev. Matt Gaston, officiating. He will be Entombment will with full Military Honors.

Mr. Sims is survived by a son, Clyde Randolph Sims, of Wichita Falls, grandsons, Richard Earl Sims, of Red Oak, and Michael Dean Sims, of Columbus, OH, and two great grandsons. He was preceded in death by his parents, a twin brother Clyde D Sims, and sisters, Nellie Pratt, and Francine Woodson.
