Clifford \"Pop\" Sickles  '83' went to be with our Lord Sunday Sept. 27th at 6:35 a.m. at Harris Methodist Hospital in Ft. Worth with his fa

mily at his side. He was born on Aug. 20, 1926 in Kansas City, Mo. He was the son of Steve and Mary Sickles. He married Shirley Lietz on Oct. 27, 1945. She was the love of his life. They were married for 60 years until her passing in Nov. 2005.  He served in the Army from 1944 - 1946 being stationed in Italy serving during Word War II.  He moved his family from Garden City, Mi. to Denton in 1964 where he worked at Bill Utter Ford as Parts Mgr. until his permanate retirement in 1989.  He retired the first time at the age of 55 traveling with his wife in 1981. He loved being with his family and hanging out at the Senior Center with his friends.  He enjoyed his Friday's - with his friends playing cards.

He is survived by his 3 daughters, Donna Casey and husband Tim of Kerrville, Tx., Marge Sickles of Denton, Tx. and Bonnie Owens and husband Ron of Aubrey, Tx.  He has 4 grand children, Kim Goode and husband Kipper of Kerrville, Tx., Angie Alvey and husband Bryan of Denton, Tx., Steven Owens and wife Stephanie of Aubrey, Tx. and Shawn Casey and wife Dawn of San Antonio, Tx. He had 11 great children, and a sister Marie Ellis, of Lakeland, FL.

Visitation will be on Tuesday September 29 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Gateway United Baptist Church at 2401 Bell Ave. in Denton.  Funeral will be on Wed. September 30th at 3:00 p.m. also at Gateway United Baptist Church with  Buddy Owens officating.  Graveside service will be at a later date with the immediate family after cremation.

The family would like to express their sincere thanks to the nurses at the Palliative Care Unit at Harris Methodist Hospital in Ft. Worth.He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley and sister Annette Stanton.In lien of flowers, donations can be made  to the Diabetes Assoc. or The Leukemia Society.Mulkey-Mason, Jack Schmitz and Son Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
