Claudia Lois Smith was born in Pilot Point, Texas on September 6, 1946 to Carl Smith, Sr. and Ruby Fowler Smith. On September 26, 2016, she left this earth due to complications from Alzheimer's. She resided in Texas and California before making her final home in Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Kelly Lynn Smith of Denton, Texas and sister Peggy Franks of Argyle, Texas. Left to cherish her memories are daughter Misty Opella and husband Dr. Chris Opella of Aledo, Texas and son Tracy Smith of Denton, Texas. Sisters, Carla Morris of Estero, Florida, Barbara Riney of Aubrey, Texas. Brothers, Carl Smith, Jr. of Midlothian. Texas, and Stephen Smith, Houston, Texas. Six Grandchildren, Matt, Josh, Amber, Emily, Mila, and Luke. Two Great Grandchildren, Alayna and Colten.
Arrangements are under the direction of Mulkey Mason Funeral Home, 705 N. Locust Denton, Texas. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 8, 2016, 10:00 am, for family and friends at the funeral home chapel. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Alzheimer's Association, 225 N.
