Obituary

Claude Joe Sanders, 80, of Denton, died Thursday, October 12, 2006 at Presbyterian Hospital of Denton. He was born January 10, 1926 in Westminster, to James F. , and Hannah (Arrington) Sanders. He attended Public Schools, and received a B. S. Degree from Austin College in Sherman. He served in the U. S. Navy in World War II, serving on the USS Saratoga, and was retired in 1983 as an Accountant with Mobil Oil Corp. He was married to Helen Lois Gilbert on November 27, 1948 in Anna, TX.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 A. M. Monday, October 16, 2006 in Cindy Nichols Chapel of the First Baptist Church, 1100 Malone St. Denton, with Reverends Jeff Williams, Cliff Feeler, and Jim West, officiating. Burial will follow at 12:30 P.M. Graveside at Restland Memorial Park in Dallas. The family will be at the funeral home, 705 N. Locust, Denton for visitation from 4 P.M. until 6 P.M. Sunday, October 15, 2006.
Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church, 1100 Malone St. Denton, TX 76201.
Mr. Sanders is survived by his wife, Helen of Denton, and a daughter and son-in-law, Marlene and Garry Owens, of Mesquite, and other extended family members.
