Obituary

Clara Faye Hilger Lawson Smith, 75 of Ponder, died Tuesday, December 20, 2005 at Presbyterian Hospital of Denton. She was born March 12, 1930 in Ponder to George Robert and Cecil Mary (Pockrus) Hilger. She was married to Lester Lawson, on February 26, 1946 in Gainesville, and he died April 23, 1989, having been married forty-three years, then she married Jack H. Smith on April 10, 1992 in Denton. She was retired from Russell-Newman, where she was a Supervisor, and She also worked at the Justin Elementary School. She is a member of the First Baptist Church.

A funeral service will be held at 10 A.M. Thursday, December 22, 2005 in the Chapel of Mulkey-Mason, Jack Schmitz and Son Funeral Home, with Dr. Jeff Williams, and Rev. Cliff Feeler, officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Park. The family will be at the funeral home for visitation from 7 P.M. until 8 P.M. Wednesday, December 21, 2005.

Mrs. Smith is survived by her husband, Jack H. Smith, of Ponder, daughter Jo Ann Sims, of Denton, two sons, Billy George Lawson, of Arlington, and David Wayne Lawson, of Henderson, NV, three step children, Roger Smith, of Sanger, Sherry Cook, of Lewisville, and Charlotte Jolly, of Sanger, two sisters Georgia Elmore, and Billie Porter, of Ponder, Eight Grandchildren and Five Great Grandchildren, Three Step Grandchildren and one Step Great Grandchild.
