Charlie Joe Howard, age 72, of Ponder, Texas, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, May 17th, 2025 with family by his side.

Joe, the son of Charlie "Jack" and Elsie Josephine Graham Howard, was born on November 23, 1952 in Denton, Texas.  He married Cheryl Ann Spencer on February 10th, 1973 and became forever her hero.

As a young man, Joe attended Ponder High school and then trade school. Always driven and hardworking, he began working professionally as a plumber at 19 years of age, and still continued working as a handy man upon retiring at age 67. As important as hard work was to Joe, nothing was more important to him than family. Despite the long hours his work demanded of him, he found ways to spend time with his loved ones. He enjoyed taking his children and later his grandchildren with him on jobs, or for outings and other little adventures.

He faithfully attended Faith Tabernacle Assembly of God in Denton, TX for 33 years.

He was a man of few words but deep feeling.

Joe Howard is preceded in death by his infant son, Charlie "Little Joe" Howard Jr., his parents Charlie and Elsie, his brother Jackie Wayne, and his sisters Linda Gail, Barbara, Cora and Dora.

He is survived by Cheryl Ann, the love of his life and wife of 52 years; his very close and loving sister Carol Marie Howard Webb; His beloved children: son Desi Joe, and daughters Linda Shree', Tammy LaVon, and Latisha Ann; His many cherished grandchildren: 2 grandsons Andrew Kirk and Gabriel Jose, 7 granddaughters Brianna Nicole, Brittney Desiree, Janessa Ann, Rebecca Sue, Destiny Renee, Rachel LaVon, Tiffany Nicole; His 1st great granddaughter, Vienna Jo, who he was proud to welcome into this world, and many more friends and loved ones.

His funeral will be presided over by his long-term Pastor, friend and favorite domino opponent, Rev. Randy Snow, who graciously maintained a losing streak whenever he played against Joe and his brother Wayne; Joe is being laid to rest at Roselawn Cemetery Memorial Park in Denton, TX, alongside his parents, infant son and family.
