Charles David Wright, 58, of Lewisville, Texas passed away on July 17th, 2009 after an extended illness. He was born in Cooper, Texas on August 11, 1950 to Charles Hollis and Eileen Wright. David was a kind and gentle man who spent much of his life as a teacher and cheer coach at Lewisville High School. He was a former officer in the Texas State Cheerleader Association. He had also served on the Universal Cheerleader Association National Advisory Board. David was the founder of the Lewisville High School Bell Crew. Over the past 28 years David has helped guide the Lewisville Cheer Squad to state and national recognition. Affectionately called "DW", he has influenced many lives and touched the hearts of hundreds in the schools and local community. David proudly spent his life in service to Lewisville High School and he often referred to the staff and his students as "his Farmer family". He was an avid fan of both Fighting Farmer sports and The University of Texas sports. He will forever be remembered as a symbol of "Farmer Pride" and he will be greatly missed. An informal gathering to celebrate David's life will be held in the cafeteria of Lewisville High School on Sunday, August 2nd, 2009 at 3:00 pm. Any persons attending are encouraged to bring photos of Mr. Wright and/or written statements of love and respect that will be on display.
