Charles Peter Engle age 73 of Denton a beloved husband, Dad, Pop-Pop,  brother and friend passed away Friday May 8, 2009 at his residence  surrounded by his family after a brief and courageous battle with lung  cancer. Charles was born February 9, 1936 in Morris Township, New Jersey  to Delbert and Helen (Totten) Engle. He resided in New Jersey for over 50  years until retiring to Isle of Palms, South Carolina where he lived for  11 years. Charlie and Lois moved to Robson Ranch 4 years ago.  Charlie went to Newark College of Engineering and then worked as a Master  Plumber. He worked at Ciba-Geigy Pharmaceuticals (Novartis) for 25 years  and was a maintenence engineer when he retired.  Charlie served as a volunteer Fireman in the Woodland Fire Department, Morris Township, NJ for 40 plus years and held the position of First Assistant  Chief during that time. He was on the fire squad at Ciba-Geigy and served  as the volunteer Director of the Emergency Management department in Morris  Township, New Jersey for over 10 years.  Charlie was a long time member of the Green Village United Methodist  Church and a current member of the New Life Church at Robson Ranch where  he ran the Men's Breakfast Club.  Charlie never met a person he couldn't talk to. He also loved to travel  and golf, His favorite hobby was making personalized clocks and plaques  for family and friends. Charlie was so kind and helpful to all who knew  him. He will be dearly missed by all.  He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Lois Sheats Engle, three children  daughters, Julia McLane and husband Gill, Vicki White and husband Bill.  Son Richard Engle and wife Doris. Six grandchildren, Ryan and Kara Bruntz,  Zachary White, Samantha Wladich and Eddie and Alex McLane. Brother Delbert  Engle and wife Pauleta. Sister-in-laws, Betsy Sheats, Doris Sheats and  Edel Doyle and nieces and nephews.  The Memorial Service will be held at the Robson Ranch Clubhouse at 12:00 noon on Saturday, May 30, 2009.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in remembrance of Charles Engle  to American Hospice, 3124 SE Loop 820, Fort Worth, TX 76140 or the  Salvation Army, 1508 E. McKinney St, Denton TX 76209
