Obituary

Charles F. Drapo, 83, of Denton, Texas passed away August 20, 2013. He was born to the late William and Jessie Drapo in Tonawanda, New York. He moved to Denton in 1976. He was the beloved husband of Peggy (Brooks) Drapo for 63 years; proud and loving father to his sons Charles J. Drapo of Massachusetts, and Dononvan Z. Thomas of Denton, his daughter Jody (Kenneth) Fairman, of Denton and his former son-in-law Jeffery (Wallene) Thomas; of Denton cherished grandfather to Shannon D. Copeland, of Denton; Kelly L. Thomas of Austin, and great grandson, Caleb O. Shaneyfelt of Houston. Charles was the brother of Richard (Linda) Drapo of Nevada, and Delores (Daniel) Morrissey of Tonawanda, New York and the late William Drapo and Robert J. Drapo (Ann) of Tonawanda. He is survived by many loved nieces and nephews.
He was a longtime member, Head Usher and Treasurer at Grace Temple Baptist Church, and presently a member at Southmont Baptist Church; an avid member of the Denton Kiwanis Breakfast Club for many years, a Volunteer for Denton State School, and a faithful member of the Texas Woman's University Wellness Center.
Mulkey-Mason will handle private arrangements for the family.
"When a great man dies, for years the light he leaves behind him lies on the paths of men." These words, penned by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, spoke of the love we have and the memories we hold for our husband, father and cherished "Grandpa Chuck".
