Charles Kay Carlton Sr. was called home by the Lord on Saturday, December 13, 2025 in South Carolina. He was joyously greeted by his beloved wife of 55 years, Debra Daisy Carlton. A piece of our hearts is forever missing here on earth, but we have peace in knowing he is healthy and reunited with his loved one whom are already in heaven.

Charles was born in Fort Worth, TX on August 6, 1951. He was one of five children to Olen Kay Carlton and Nona Lee Watson. In his early adult life he served in the United States Air Force. Shortly after his service in the military, he began a long and dedicated career with the US Postal Service for 30 years. During his time as a mailman, he was recognized for his extreme dedication and hard work through many awards.

He was a man of many titles. The most important being that of husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He is remembered as forever thankful and appreciative for those around him. He is defined by many that know him as a respectable, caring, and kind soul. His love for music will always be remembered whether it be him singing in the car or tapping his foot to his favorite songs in the living room. He always brought a smile to those around him and left an amazing and ongoing impression.

He is survived by his son and daughter-In-Law, Charles Kay Carlton Jr. and Shanda Carlton and his daughter Tonya Moore; siblings, Darlene Hunter, Rene Wiley, Glenn Carlton; Grandchildren , Jake Carlton, Shelby Moore, Kayla Pierce, Megan Shively and Husband Alex Shively; Great Grandchildren, Reagen Rizzo, Riley Rizzo, Indie Pierce and Bodhi Pierce and several nieces and nephews.

He is proceeded in death by his wife, Debra Daisy Carlton; mother and father, Nona Lee Watson and Olen Kay Carlton; his sister, Kim Gulledge.

Visitation will be held on January 2, 2026, from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM at Mulkey-Bowles-Montgomery Funeral Home in Denton, Texas. Following the visitation, a graveside service will take place at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery at 2:30 PM. Celebration of life with be held at 5685 Florance Rd, Northlake, TX 76247 at 5:00.

Charles Kay Carlton Sr. touched many lives during his time with us, and his legacy will continue through the love and memories he leaves behind.
