Charles Lester Arnold, 71, of Aubrey passed away on Thursday April 14, 2016 at his home. He was born July 9, 1944 in Denton to John Thomas and Mabel Earlene (Latham) Arnold. He is a graduate of Denton High School and was married to Jo Linda Arrington on January 25, 1964 in Denton. He was a member of New Hope Baptist Church where he served as a deacon.
Charlie worked for many years when he was younger for Dick Harris doing ranch work before working for Moore Business Forms for 21 years. He then worked for Peterbilt Motors for 21 years until he retired in 2006.
He was a football referee for 17 years through the Southwest Football Association. When his two sons were younger, Charlie was involved in Indian Guides, Cub Scouts, and coaching their football and baseball teams. Charlie enjoyed going on numerous mission trips through his church's mission ministries and was a member of the Texas Baptist Men.
Charlie loved to travel with his family and friends through the years and enjoyed taking cruises, going to the mountains, camping, visiting Hawaii with his wife Linda, and zip lining (his favorite thing to do). Our entire family is so thankful for all the nurses, doctors, and therapists at Baylor-Dallas, Select Rehabilitation, Denton Regional and Vitas Hospice. After several months of undergoing surgeries, out-patient therapy and rehab at these facilities, he is now at home in Heaven with Christ Jesus our Lord.
Mr. Arnold is survived by his wife Jo Linda Arnold of Aubrey, two sons Matt Arnold and wife Theresa of Collinsville, Kyle Arnold and wife Shelly of Aubrey, sisters, Darlene Collins and Amelia Smith of Denton Joyce Allison of Lewisville, and Tomie Meadows of Sachse, brother Bill Arnold of Sanger, grandchildren Traci Arnold, Kristen Arnold, and Jackson Arnold, and many nieces, nephews and good friends.
A visitation will be held at 6pm and Memorial service will be held at 7pm on Monday April 18, 2016 at the New Hope Baptist Church, 5800 Hwy 377 South, Aubrey, TX 76227, with Rev. Elmer Cummings officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the New Hope Baptist Church Children's Ministry in Aubrey, Texas.
