Cecil E. Denison, 77, of Gordonville, TX died peacefully on June 14, 2020 at his home on Lake Texoma. He was born January 17, 1943 in Sanger, TX to Raymond and Dora Denison. He graduated from Denton High School in 1961 and went on to receive his Masters degree in Education from UNT. He taught wood shop at Strickland Junior High, he then moved on to Denton High School where he was a Job Placement Coordinator and then finally a Counselor at Ryan High School until he retired in 1999. After retiring he and his wife of 59 years, Barbara Ann Fikes moved to Lake Texoma. He was an Elder at the Sherwood Shores Chapel and enjoyed serving on numerous committees with the church. He was an avid hunter, gun collector, and enjoyed fishing as well. A big fan of sports he spent a lot of time in his man cave watching them on TV. GO COWBOYS! GO MAVERICKS! GO RANGERS! He had a dry witty sense of humor that will be missed by family and friends. He is survived by his wife Barbara, daughter and son-in-law Melynne and Bruce Alexander of Denton TX, 2 grandchildren Justin Alexander of Hedley TX and Jordan Alexander of Grapevine, TX, 4 great grandchildren, Bryn, Blair, Lizzy, Layla and his beloved schnauzers Gracie and Kate. His service will be held on Thursday June 18, 2020 at 11:00 am, at Mulkey-Bowles- Montgomery Funeral Home. Burial immediately following at Roselawn Cemetery.
