Catherine Dunlop Ashley, 63, of Denton, died at home on Monday, September 19, 2016.
Mrs. Ashley was born on October 14, 1952 in Port Glasgow, Scotland to William and Mary (Dunlop ) Knox. She was married to Rickie Lynn Ashley on May 25, 1974 in Port Glasgow,Scotland. She retired from the Lake Dallas ISD, 20 years maintenance and 6 years child nutrition, and was a member of the Open Arms Church in Lake Dallas. She enjoyed antique shopping and decorating in her spare time but it was all secondary to spending time with her grand kids.
She is survived by her husband, Rick Ashley of Denton; daughter, Deborah Ross of Duncan, OK; son, Stephen Ashley of Denton; sisters, Sadie McCann of Scotland, Margaret Collins of Scotland, Mary Gormley of Pennsylvania, Allison McClure of Scotland, Sandra Knox of England; three grandchildren, Tony Ross, Christian Ashley, Faith Catherine Ashley. She was preceded by her parents and a sister, Wilma Deptula.
A visitation will be held from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Wednesday, September 21, 2016 at Mulkey Mason Funeral Home, 705 N. Locust Denton, TX 76201. Service will be held at 3:00 PM Thursday, September 22, 2016 at Lake Shore Baptist Church, 276 E Hundley Dr, Lake Dallas TX 75065. Interment will follow at Swisher Cemetery in Lake Dallas.
