On Saturday, July 2, 2022, Casimir John Gromadzki, age 93, passed away peacefully in his sleep.

Cas was born on October 25, 1928 in Scranton PA to Andrew Gromadzki and Mary Roginski Gromadzki. Cas went to St. Peter & Paul Elementary School and Central High School, from where he graduated valedictorian in 1945.

In September 1950, Cas enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and served in state-side locations that included Oregon and Montana, and then in northern Japan as the supervisor in the Air Defense. He was Honorably Discharged with the rank of Staff Sergeant in August 1954.

He then attended Penn State University and graduated with degrees in Electrical Engineering and Liberal Arts.

In 1961, RCA hired him to work as an engineer in Moorestown New Jersey, where he met his future wife, Helen Eleanor Durham, marrying her in May 1962. They moved to Centerport, Long Island, New York, in 1963, where they started their family of John Andrew, Carole Anne, and Dave Alan (who later changed his name to Randy Ellefson).

Cas and Helen enjoyed cruising and traveled to Bermuda, Jamaica, and other countries in the Caribbean and in Europe. They especially enjoyed sailing their sailboat in Long Island Sound, New York.

Cas earned his masters degree in Computer Engineering from SUNY @ Stoneybrook, Long Island, New York, and went on to work at NASA after the family moved to Silver Spring, Maryland.

After retiring at 65 as a Senior Principal Engineer, Cas took part time work for the FBI in Washington, D.C. as a Computer Consultant. He retired again at 69, and when Helen retired from teaching, they moved to The Villages Florida before moving in 2016 to Good Samaritan Society in Denton TX.

Cas enjoyed bridge, bowling, tennis, golf, and sailing. He is survived by three children, four grandchildren, and three step grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his older brother, Louis E Gromadzki, MD, and his eldest brother, Zygmunt Gromadzki, his mother and father.
