Carolyn Marie Ussery, 73, was born March 31, 1951 and passed away peacefully June 20, 2024 with family at her side. She is preceded in death by her parents James F. and Lola V. Ussery of Denton, husband Jack Ussery, sons James R. Ussery, and Jackie C. Ussery, brother Wayne Squires and sisters Bernice Stevens and Alice Faye Davis and sister-in-law Ethel Parker of Denton. Survivors include her brothers Billy J. Ussery, Jesse Ussery, Jay Ussery all of Denton and sister Mary Moss of Sanger. Carolyn had many friends, cousins, nieces and nephews. Along with her "adopted" son and daughter Ricky and Clorinda Ussery of Ponder, she was also very proud to share the grandma and great grandma titles to their four children, William Douglas Ussery, Chadon Dale Ussery, Halli Ledford and her children Shailyn, Preston, and Rhyker, and Colten Ledford, and his children Novaliee, Weston, Everett and Emryn.

Carolyn loved her family and loved cooking, baking, casino visits, camping and fishing. She was a very hard worker and spent several years at fish and hook, M & B metal, Halsey manufacturing, and Mills machine shop where she met and made several lifelong friendships along the way. Pallbearers are Billy Ussery, Ricky Ussery, Douglas Ussery, Chadon Ussery, Colten Ledford and Shane Stubblefield.

Visitation will be Monday June 24th, 2024 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Mulkey-Bowles-Montgomery Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held 10:00 AM Tuesday, June 25, 2024 in the chapel of Mulkey-Bowles-Montgomery Funeral Home, 705 N. Locust St., Denton. Interment will follow at Lonesome Dove Cemetery 2380 Lonesome Dove Rd. Southlake TX. Chaplain Scott Anthony will officiate.
