Carolyn Clark Thomson
November 24, 1959 - December 12, 2022
Carolyn Clark Thomson, was born November 24, 1959 in Denton, TX to AL and Betty Clark. In 2000 she met the love of her life, a Canadian, Bruce Thomson. They were married in 2002 and had 20 wonderful years together.
A lifelong resident of Denton TX, she grew up in a Christian home and accepted Jesus as her savior at a young age. She attended FBC-Denton where she was active throughout her early life. Carolyn's love for educating children began in the FBC-D day care.
She graduated from Denton High School and went on to receive her Bachelor's and Master's degree in Education from the University of North Texas. Her teaching career spanned 30 years teaching the children of Keller ISD and Denton ISD. She was an excellent teacher who influenced the lives of countless children. One of her favorite things to do was to read the Christmas story to the children of Highland Baptist Church as they gathered around her on the steps of the altar. Every year, she led the beginning of school prayer to bless the new school year. She loved Denton and her Highland Baptist Church family. She served faithfully on various church committees throughout her life.
After retirement, she and Bruce dedicated themselves to the care of her parents, who she loved dearly. She was a friend to all. She loved and was loved.
She was proud of her Clark family and the inheritance of a strong family bond, the most prominent trait to right any injustice, but especially when involving a family member. Making her best memories at family reunions with her many uncles, aunts and cousins.
Carolyn was a prayer warrior, who relied on prayer in every circumstance. If you needed prayer, you called Carolyn and she would activate her vast prayer network.
She is survived by her husband of 20 years, Bruce, and her furbaby Benny. Stepdaughter, who she loved as her own, Sarah Heinrich and husband Stefan. Her granddaughter Eva and grandson Oliver Heinrich of Toronto, Canada. Her sister, Linda Barret and husband Rick. Great niece Jessica Meier and husband Curtis. Great great niece Dixie Jo and Alexis. Great nephews, David Barrett, Isaac Barrett and his wife Hannah. Sisters-in-law Heather Jamieson and husband Murray; Shelia Cooper and husband John. Nieces Haley and Savannah; nephews Travis and Trevor. Her uncle Ray Clark and wife Angie and Uncle Jerry Clark. As well as aunts, uncles and cousins in Kansas and Texas.
Bruce would like to express his deepest thanks for the loving support given by family and friends. Special Thanks to Jo Jackson, Denise and Lee Evans, Sharon and Dennis Cox, Judy France, and Kim and Chris Spencer. In addition, a heart-felt thanks to her caregivers during her illness, they all went above and beyond. At Texas Oncology; Dr Sharma, Nurses Patrice and Rachel and volunteer Mary and all the oncology nurses. At Presbyterian Hospital Denton nurses Michelle, Jeffy, Deborah, Teenie; patient tech Tessi and to the others whose names escape me, but I will always remember how you made us feel.
